FHE

Today was a fantastic day. The sun was shining this morning. My mom called and said "There isn't a cloud in the sky. You have to get the kids outside for a walk." So that's what we did. Sierra walked the whole way, Kaia about half. It is a little over two miles to the park and back. We spent a lot of time looking at the flowers. The daffodils are in full bloom. I didn't know the names of the other flowers so we just made some up (like blueberry cones). Kaia did a lot of talking. I love it when she says things like "remember very time a long ago" instead of "a very long time ago". While I was cleaning up lunch, I noticed that Tristan got really quiet. Come to find out, he was stuffing tiny pieces of broccoli into his ear. Maybe that's a "natural" cure for ear aches that I've never heard of. It took a while, but I think I got it all out. I've been meaning to look on Ebay for the tool a doctor uses to look into ears (I wish I knew the name, that would give me a little more motivation). After naps, we had a fun adventure to Costco and the truck wash. The girls kept themselves entertained while I made dinner with their "Costco Box Crafts". Sierra made a great airplane that she stood inside and ran around and around. I don't think Kaia really had a plan with her box, she was just happy to be able to use scissors again (she was off scissors for a while after a self haircut episode). Adam made it home just in time for Family Home Evening. The big activity was eating ice cream, something we've all been looking forward to. Then off to the bath. The kid's had one last dose of "Daddy Time" (stepping, flopping, and jumping all over poor, exhausted Adam).

I love the idea of Costco box crafts! I'm totally stealing it for my next trip to Sam's Club. (We don't have a Costco anywhere near; something I lament about all the time!)
