Sierra came down with a fever, just moments after finishing her last dose of Amoxicillin. Tristan just stuffed a book into the toilet. Kaia told me this morning that she was done eating mud. But, she added, she still plans on eating dirt. It is almost 6 p.m. on a Friday night and I haven't heard from Adam yet.
However, not all is gloom. Today was a bright, beautiful 62 degree day. We usually go to my mom's on Fridays, but since her family is in the Caribbean right now, we got to go to Gram's again. The girls got to make mini apple and blueberry pies with Gram and Nell. While playing at the park, who should walk up but my buddy Megan and her 2 year-old nephew, Tyson. It was perfectly delightful to play with them in the sunshine at the best park in the world (the one right next to Gram and Pop's, of course).
On Wednesday, Gram let the kids decorate hard boiled eggs. Because we were sick over Easter, I totally forgot about eggs. She gave Sierra and Kaia big plastic eggs with Dora tattoos. I told the girls that they could have one tattoo at a time. I wouldn't let them put on another till the first wore off. The next day I noticed that Kaia's tattoo was still perfectly visible, but Sierra's was really worn off. Come to find out, she'd been licking and biting at the tattoo so she could speed the process along. Needless to say, I've had to change the requirements for the second tattoo.
I just watched the following movie about children & creativity. I jumped right up and pulled out the paper and markers for the kids. This was the result:
Kaia drew a picture that she described as "Mom with three legs and dots." Tristan ate a marker. Sierra drew our family "in our new house with a swimming pool." I'm not sure where she got that idea, but it sounds good to me.
